Technische Universitäat Dresden (TUD) is one of eleven German “excellence” universities and as a multi-discipline university, it has about 37,000 students, more than 9,800 employees and 500 professors. TUD will be represented in the project by the Chair for Technical Information Systems (TIS) of the Institute of Applied Computed Science (IAI). Currently, 27 researchers (22 of them funded by 3rd party projects) are employed at the chair.
This 27 researchers, working i.a. in the fields of automatic system design, and wireless and wired sensor-actuator-networks in the domains of building automation, semiconductor industry, and industrial automation, manufacturing and control, diagnosis, and real time analytics. With experience from more than 40 research projects, e.g. the German cutting edge cluster CoolSilicon and the ResUbic Lab Dresden on the engineering of Cyber-Physical Systems, the chair is a facilitator for knowledge transfer from research to industry by being deeply involved in several standardization committees, such as CEN TC247 WG4, VDI, VDE, DKE, Building Smart, LonMark, and IEEE IES TC BACM and TC Smarter Cities.
